Welcome to Stuff and Nonsense! PDF Print E-mail
A new series of family events are launched this month which promise to stimulate and inspire: dance, fun and education for all.

'Stuff & NonSense(c)' was created by Jan Taylor of Heptonstall drawing on her experiences organizing charity events for voluntary and community groups. Having seen what was out there, she came up with ideas for which she would like to go to with her family and so which she felt other families would really like to be part of.

'I have loved organising events, birthday parties, surprise parties, fund-raising events and more recently, the Steiner school celebrations & festivals. Thinking about what I'd really love to do for a vocation, an events organiser is what came up.'

Creating welcoming spaces for friends to meet, children to play and providing hands on educational entertainment through a variety of children's' artists are all part of the attention to detail in Jan's work. Each themed event is designed for children from approximately 2 years up and feature music, dance, magic, mythical stories, seasonal events and weird and wonderful creatures.

First off is 'Fun to Dance' on February 7 , with a taster session from Baby Ballet for the children, an Arabic dance show-piece from Farida Dance and then fun dancing for all. The next event will be 'Weird & Wonderful Creatures' on February 28 , 'Fun to Dance' on March 7th with an Animal theme, on the April 4 an Easter theme and on May 2nd a 'May Day Celebration'.

All events are at The Trades Club and have face painters and café. Tickets are available at early-bird prices and can be bought in advance from the local Tourist Information Centres. Look out for the new posters and fliers coming out.
